Xcel Urgent Care carries oral and intravenous treatments for adult and pediatric patients (12 years of age and older weighing at least 40 kg) at high risk for progression to severe disease, including hospitalization or death.
We either dispense oral treatment or administer intravenous treatment on an outpatient basis, and no referral to our facility is needed. The list of medical conditions placing individuals at high risk of complications can be found here.
Prior to treatment, one of our providers will screen you to determine whether you should receive the treatment or not.
For the intravenous treatment, an intravenous line is placed in the arm and an infusion of monoclonal antibodies is administered slowly, after which you will be observed for 1 hour. Expect to be at our facility for a total of 2 hours.
